New Movie Monday
OK so its not Monday, but I got busy yesterday and didn't get around to this. I looked over the movies coming out this week and quite frankly was underwhelmed. Salt looks ok but nothing to write home about. So, I decided to go ahead and start pumping up Scot Pilgrim. Hope you enjoy. More to come from Mr. Pilgrim.

Book Blogger Hop: July 9-12
Jennifer at Crazy For Books is hosting another Blog Hop. Its a great way to get to know some other blogs and find some new faves. Just follow the link and list your site.
Her question this week is to talk about our favorite authors and why the are our favorites.
My answer: Its hard to say who my faves are but one would have to be Pat Conroy (Prince of Tides, Lords of Discipline). His stories are usually set in South Carolina along the coast or the coastal marshlands. He does a beautiful job or painting the scene. I can almost taste the salt air and smell the marshes. He also brings to life psychological struggles that the characters have. Very intense stuff from him.
Another of my faves is Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park, Sphere). He has the perfect blend of techno-babble and storytelling to keep geeks like me satisfied.
Douglas Adams is also a favorite author of mine. As anyone who has read the WHOLE Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy trilogy of 5 books can tell by the title of my blog. The whole sort of general mish mash came from the final book Mostly Harmless. He had a very funny British wit about his stories along with some interesting scientific ideas.

What's New
OK, so I have started my annual-something-new-Harry-Potter-is-coming-out-so-I-must-re-read-the-entire-series-again re-reading of the Harry Potter series, so I am not going to bore you with yet another review of the series as a whole or each book individually. I think that has been done ad nauseum by now. Now if certain flights of fancy take me and I feel the need to elaborate these thoughts I may venture there. Lets just see where the wind may take us.
